AFMC honors excellence in health care
(June 15, 2009) - The Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC) recently presented Forrest City Medical Center with two Quality Awards for its commitment to excellence in health care. The awards were presented during AFMC’s 16th Quality Conference, held May 19-20 at the Hot Springs Convention Center. Statewide, 52 facilities and agencies received awards.
The medical center received a Best Achievement Award (1st place) for its performance on several specific aspects of patient care, including pneumonia and flu vaccinations. It also received a Validation Award (2nd place), which recognizes achievement in certain measures of health care.
According to Dr. Nick Paslidis, AFMC’s chief executive officer, Forrest City Medical Center demonstrates a true commitment to improving health care.
“The Quality Award winners don’t just talk about health care quality — they live it every day,” Dr. Paslidis said.
