Phase II Completed
Forrest City Medical Center recently installed a new GE MRI System as the last piece of major equipment to be installed during the final phase of their renovation and expansion project.
The system consists of a GE 1.5 Tesla Magnet and upgraded software. According to Eddie Ezell, Director of Radiology at Forrest City Medical Center, "We will be able to perform a whole series of new studies, including, abdomen, kidney, pelvis, chest, venous, and arterial scans."
Also, during Phase II of the renovation and expansion, the emergency department was remodeled and expanded. The new ED includes a new emergency room entrance, waiting area and administrative offices.
Phase I of the emergency department expansion included a new emergency room, 10 new private treatment rooms, a new triage room, and upgraded equipment.
The complete expansion of the emergency department will add 6,500 square feet to the facility.
