FORREST CITY MEDICAL CENTER’S WOUND CARE CENTER RECOGNIZED WITH NATIONAL PRESIDENT’S CIRCLE AWARD FOR CLINICAL EXCELLENCE
Forrest City, AR, March 21, 2019 – Forrest City Medical Center physicians, leaders and clinicians gathered recently to celebrate the President’s Circle award, which was given to the FCMC Wound Care Center in recognition of a Center of Distinction with outstanding performance. The Center was awarded this prestigious honor by Healogics, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services. Forrest City Medical Center’s Wound Care Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal. There were 621 Centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, but only 10 Centers achieved this honor.
“We are extremely proud of the staff in our Wound Care Center for working so diligently to achieve such high standards in clinical outcomes,” remarked Forrest City Medical Center’s CEO, Kevin Decker. “Our Wound Care Center has only been in operation for a couple of years, so for us to receive this Center of Distinction recognition is a remarkable achievement.” The FCMC Wound Care Center opened and began accepting patients in December of 2016.
The program director for the FCMC Wound Care Center is Forrest City native Allison Shafer. “We had been aware that our clinical outcomes had been high enough to earn us the Center of Distinction recognition,” said Shafer. “What we didn’t know until we received the call from Healogics was that we were also awarded the President’s Circle Award. That is a huge achievement and it’s a great indication of the quality care our staff provides for our patients.”
